On 16 August 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), jointly delivered an opening remarks, via a pre-recorded video, at the opening session of a training course on “Learning Center Management Techniques toward Sustainable Development Program” along with Chongrak Wachrinrat, Ph.D., President of Kasetsart University.

The objective of this training course aims at enhancing knowledge and innovation on sustainable agriculture, and network-building for executives of the Learning Centers for Sustainable Development in Agriculture based on the Application of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) in Lao PDR. The training course is jointly organized by TICA in collaboration with Extension and Training Office, Kasetsart University between 15 - 19 August 2023 in Phetchaburi and Samut Songkhram province.

The training course, of which its participants, led by Mr. Phoxay Boulom, Deputy Director-General of Vocational Education Department, are a representative of Vocational Education Department, Ministry of Education and Sports of Lao PDR and executives from six learning centers for sustainable development in agriculture based on the Application of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) in Lao PDR, aims to demonstrate the management model and techniques for SEP learning center towards sustainability and provide an opportunity to exchange experiences in operating the learning center.

On this occasion, the Director-General also stressed that this program would provide an ample opportunity for the participants to enhance knowledge of innovation to response the challenges of the rapidly changing world in different disruptive contexts. Furthermore, the collaboration on this program would further deepen bilateral friendship and cooperation between the two countries in both citizen and state levels.
