On 28 September 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) chaired TICA & Development Partners Meeting with the heads of the development partners’ missions in Bangkok namely the United States Agency for International Development/Regional Development Mission for Asia (USAID/RDMA), the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Embassy of Australia at Eastin Grand Hotel Phayathai. Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of TICA, Ms. Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of Promotion and Coordination Division as well as TICA and the development partners’ staff also attended the meeting.

This meeting served as a special platform to further advance partnership and collective efforts in international development cooperation between Thailand and the development partners based in Bangkok.  The meeting discussed and exchanged views on challenges and opportunities in development cooperation ‘For Thailand’, ‘With Thailand’, and ‘In Thailand’, in response to Thailand’s new foreign policy direction which places high importance 3 pillars namely; economy, security, and technology. The meeting also addressed Thailand’s development cooperation aspects including Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP), Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model, four aspects of Human Security (Food, Health, Job, Energy and Environment).  Besides, the meeting explored possibilities to jointly conduct capacity building and human resource development activities to address common issues in the region, such as climate change, air pollution control and plastic waste management.
