On 20 November 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and Mr. Jean-Pierre Marcelli, Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Southeast Asia Regional Director and Thailand Country Director, signed the Three-Year Work Plan (2023 -2025) for the Cooperation Program between TICA and AFD at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. Mr. Jérémie Pellet, Chief Executive Officer of Expertise France (EF) also witnessed the signing ceremony.
The Three-Year Work Plan encompasses bilateral, trilateral and regional cooperation in various fields such as environment, agriculture, public health, and rural development. It will serve as an operating mechanism to advance the two countries’ development cooperation in Southeast Asia, Africa and the Pacific Island.
On this occasion, Director-General of TICA and Chief Executive Officer of EF discussed ways of future cooperation. Both sides expressed their readiness to exchange knowledge and experiences with each other in bilateral cooperation as well as trilateral and regional cooperation to transfer knowledge and expertise to other countries such as ASEAN member countries and the Indo-Pacific region. Areas of interest to both sides were raised such as maritime security, cyber security, public health on Thai borders with neighboring countries, clean air, women's development, vocational training for the disability and production of marine fisheries products according to EU standards, etc.
