On 13 August 2025, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), together with H.E. Krit Tankanarat, Ambassador of Thailand to Argentina, attended the 5th Planning Committee on Technical Cooperation  between Thailand  and  Argentina at San Martin Palace in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on the invitation from H.E. Mateo Estreme, Director of National Directorate of International Cooperation of Argentina. The meeting was also attended by Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of TICA, along with representatives from the relevant Argentine agencies, including, National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA), National Service of Health and Agri-Food Quality (SENASA), and Ministry of Security.

Both sides reviewed the outcomes of projects and activities under the previous three-year Development Cooperation Programme and discussed the new three-year Programme for 2025-2027, which covers four areas of cooperation, including (1) Agro-Industry (2) Science, Technology and Innovation (3) Public Health/ Livestock and (4) Human Resource Development. It includes projects carried over from the previous programme, new initiatives, as well as trilateral cooperation activities. The Argentine side expressed appreciation to Thailand for the allocation of the Annual International Training Course (AITC), and requested Thailand’s consideration of the possibility of providing long-term scholarships for Argentina.

Both sides adopted the new Programme for 2025–2027 and agreed that it shall form part of the celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Argentina in 2025. Both sides further recognised that Thailand–Argentina technical cooperation constitutes an important mechanism in strengthening people-to-people relations, which will in turn serve as a foundation for the expansion of cooperation in other areas.
