Director-General of TICA led Thai delegates visit Cambodia to move forward capacity strengthening project for Cambodian – Thai Skills Development Institute

Mr. Wattanawit Gajaseni, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), led a delegation of TICA officials and experts from King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) to Phnom Penh, Cambodia to move forward the project on strengthening the capacity of the Cambodian-Thai Skills Development Institute in Phnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia from 19 – 20 August 2024.

On 19 August 2024, the Director-General of TICA led the delegation to visit the Cambodian-Thai Skills Development Institute. On this occasion, Mr. Rose Peth, Director of the Institute, welcomed the Thai delegation, briefed about the Institute, and led a walking tour around the Institute, including the site where the new building will be constructed.

On 20 August 2024, H.E. Mr. Cherdkiat Atthakor, Ambassador to Cambodia led a Thai delegation from TICA and KMUTNB to pay a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training of Cambodia. During the courtesy call, both sides expressed their appreciation for 27 years of collaboration on the Project and confirmed their readiness to move forward this project to the fullest extent possible.

Following the courtesy call, the Director-General of TICA and Mr. Hing Sideth, Director-General of Directorate General of TVET, Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training of Cambodia, co-chaired the 4th Project Coordinating Committee (PCC) Meeting. During the meeting, Cambodian side confirmed the new building design, acknowledged Thailand's proposal for further discussions on the new curriculum for the Institute, and agreed that officials from both sides will further discuss in detail to update the Agreement of the Project to reflect the current situation.
