On 18th May 2026, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency, welcomed Ms. Amani Kajunju, Country Director of Peace Corps Thailand, for a courtesy call on the occasion of the completion of her term of duty in Thailand.
The Director-General expressed appreciation for Ms. Kajunju’s active contributions throughout her tenure in Thailand, which helped advance the implementation of the Peace Corps Volunteer programmes, particularly under the Teacher Empowerment for Successful Students (TESS) programme, which promotes English language teaching and learning as well as access to education for local communities, and the Youth in Development (YinD) programme, which focuses on youth leadership and sustainable community development. Her efforts contributed to tangible progress in these programmes and further strengthened people-to-people connectivity through the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and cultures between Peace Corps Volunteers and Thai communities.
Ms. Kajunju expressed her gratitude to TICA for its continued support for the mission and role of the Peace Corps in Thailand. She also reaffirmed the close relations and friendship she had experienced throughout her time serving in Thailand.
For over 64 years, since 1962, Peace Corps Thailand has brought more than 5,700 volunteers to work in the country. Currently, 108 Peace Corps volunteers are serving in Thailand, including 53 under the TESS programme and 55 under the YinD programme.
