On 26 June 2025, Mrs. Chachsaran Lertkiattiwong, Director of International Development Cooperation Division, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), met with Mr. Shunsuke Sakudo, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Thailand, to discuss on the 2025 Friends from Thailand (FFT) volunteer programme between TICA and JICA, along with relevant officers at TICA.

Both sides reviewed the 2025 FFT volunteer programme work plan, recruitment of Thai volunteer, an increasing number of Thai volunteers working in Japan, expansion of FFT volunteer cooperation fields, involvement of Japanese local government who requests Thai volunteer in and expenditure responsibility for Thai volunteer, and the expenditure arrangement between TICA and JICA based on cost–sharing. Moreover, JICA also praised a current FFT volunteer stationed in Kushiro City, Hokkaido Prefecture, for her outstanding contributions in promoting the city's attractions to make it more well-known to the public.
