On 31 October 2025, Lieutenant Sorawud Preededilok, Minister Attached to the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), attended the closing ceremony of the “Air Quality Improvement” training course under the Thailand–Singapore Third Country Training Programme (TCTP).
The event also featured a tea reception celebrating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Singapore, hosted by H.E. Ms. Catherine Wong, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Thailand, at the Singapore Embassy in Bangkok.
Among the attendees were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for Global Partnerships of Mahidol University, senior officers from Mahidol University, officials from TICA, distinguished guests, and 17 trainees from 11 countries, bringing the total to over 40 participants.
During the ceremony, all participants observed a minute of silence in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
In his closing remarks, Lt. Sorawud expressed profound gratitude for Her Majesty’s benevolence and highlighted Her Majesty’s royal initiatives on environmental conservation, particularly the “Pa Rak Nam” (Forest Loves Water) Project, which was established to restore and preserve Thailand’s natural ecosystems. The project serves as a model for ecological balance, contributing to cleaner air and an improved quality of life—fully aligned with the objectives of the training course that aims to enhance knowledge and capacity in sustainable air quality and environmental management.
The “Air Quality Improvement” training marked the third of four activities under the 2025 Thailand–Singapore Trilateral Cooperation Workplan. Both countries reaffirmed their shared commitment to enhancing human capacity development among ASEAN Member States and South Asian countries, with the ultimate goal of bridging development gaps and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The final activity under this framework is scheduled for November 2025.
