On 5 April 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director–General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency, together with Ms. Lisa Lautoy, Chief Executive Officer, Enterprise Seychelles Agency (ESA), Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat, Ambassador of Thailand to Kenya, and Mr. Narong Wunsiew, Governor of Phuket, gave opening remarks for the Webinar on the “Exchange of Experiences and Best Practices of Street food vendors between Thailand and Seychelles”
This webinar was led by distinguished speakers from Thailand in the following topics:
(1) Street Food Management in Thailand from the Department of Health, the Ministry of Health, (2) Managing commercial vending in the public footpath from the City Law Enforcement Department, and (3) Case study: Local Enterprises along Phuket Walking street and their Managerial Approaches from the Old Phuket Town Community to share experiences and best practices on food hygiene, food quality, and waste management to improve the image of street food and safety for both our exports and domestic consumption.
The webinar was actively participated by Enterprise Seychelles Agency (ESA) and
the public health Authority (PHA) with substantive questions on a variety of issues, such as street food management in Thailand, the way to handle diarrhea from street food, and
the regulation to manage food waste. Moreover, the Thai side also exchanged perspective’s street food of the Seychelles side sanitation.
