Representatives of CFFAMMA and AfricaRice Madagascar Pay a Courtesy Call on the Director-General of TICA

On 10 August 2026, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), together with Lt. Sorawud Preededilok, Minister attached to TICA, and relevant officials, received and had a meeting with Mr. Ramaroson Harivelo, Director-General of the Centre for Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing, Training and Application (CFFAMMA), Mr. Senthikumar Kalimathu, Project Leader of AfricaRice Madagascar, and their delegation at TICA. The delegation was in Thailand to undertake a study visit and explore potential areas of cooperation in agricultural machinery.
During the meeting, AfricaRice presented an update on the cooperation project among Thailand, AfricaRice, and Côte d’Ivoire, and expressed its interest in expanding cooperation with Thailand through its Madagascar Country Office. Meanwhile, CFFAMMA expressed interest in cooperating with Thailand in the areas of agricultural machinery standards, testing and certification, as well as joint manufacturing and maintenance in collaboration with Thai private-sector partners.
The Director-General of TICA expressed readiness to facilitate discussions between CFFAMMA and relevant Thai agencies to exchange experiences and expertise in these areas. He also encouraged personnel from Madagascar to apply for Thailand’s Annual International Training Course (AITC, Thailand International Postgraduate Programme (TIPP), and Third Country Training Programmes (TCTP) jointly organized by Thailand and JICA.
Thailand attaches importance to strengthening development cooperation with Africa under the Thailand–Africa Initiative (TAI) and the Thailand–Africa Development Forum (TADF), with a view to advancing tangible and sustainable development outcomes.
