On 2 February 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) welcomed Mr. Hans-Ulrich Südbeck Minister, Deputy Chief of Mission, German Embassy in Bangkok and Mr. Reinhold Elges, Thailand Country Director of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH along with officials from German Embassy and GIZ Thailand on occasion of courtesy visit and new year greeting. Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director General of TICA and TICA staff were also present at the meeting.

Both sides discussed way forward for the promotion of development and technical cooperation between TICA and the GIZ both at bilateral and trilateral level, as well as the establishment of GIZ office in Thailand to support the expansion of GIZ’s development engagement in Thailand and the region, within the spirit of Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany regarding Technical Cooperation 1970. In this connection, GIZ Country Director also invited Director-General Ureerat for a site visit to the project Thai Rice for Nationally Approproate Mitigation Action: Thai Rice NAMA to observe and review the project progress.
