From 9 to 10 July 2026, Lieutenant Sorawud Preededilok, Minister attached to the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), led the Thai delegation in his capacity as Chair of the IMT-GT Working Group on Human Resource Development (WGHRD) for the 2025–2027 term. He was accompanied by officials from TICA and representatives of the Ministry of Labour.

As WGHRD Chair, Thailand played a leading role in facilitating the discussions and participated in the workshop on Labour Market Information (LMI), sharing its experience and perspectives to support stronger cooperation at the subregional level.

The Meeting reviewed progress under the IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint (IB) 2022–2026 and discussed future directions under the IB 2027–2031. Participants also exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in human resource development, particularly in upskilling and reskilling, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and cross-border cooperation.

The outcomes of the Meeting will be reported to the IMT-GT Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) for further consideration and guidance.
