On 12 October 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, the Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) met with Ms. Eleonora Betancur González, the Director-General of Colombia Presidential Agency of International Cooperation (Agencia Presidencial de Cooperacion Internacional de Colombia (APC-Colombia)) during the 7th International Meeting on Triangular Cooperation meeting in Lisbon, Portugal.

Both sides discussed on the ongoing bilateral cooperation between the two countries and exchanged views on cooperation in the future. The Colombian side expressed their interests to continue learning from Thailand on community-based tourism including sustainable tourism and medical tourism. Moreover, the Colombian side was also interested in peace building and climate change and agreed with the Thai side’s suggestion to include Alternative Development project in the upcoming Three-Year Development Cooperation Programme between Thailand and Colombia.

The Director-General expressed her support and suggested both sides to conduct internal meeting with relevant agencies to finalize the sectors for cooperation and detailed proposals, and share them with each other which should be by first quarter of next year. The Director-General also expressed interests in learning from Colombia in the area of coffee industry and clean energy.
