On 29 May to 2 June 2023, a group of Thai experts from Khon Khaen University together with a TICA officer went to Kenya School of Agriculture (KSA) in Nyeri, Kenya to organise training courses on agriculture development for KSA staff under the Project on Thailand - Kenya Sustainable Agro-technologies Development. These training courses consisted of 2 parts (1) Climate Resilience - Smart Soil and Water Management: Solutions for Sustainable Agriculture and Environment, which is about agricultural irrigation management, testing physical properities of soil, and using CROPWAT and CLIMWAT programmes to calculate crop water requirements, and (2) Agrobio-products for Healthy Food and Planet, which is about the cause of plant diseases, nematodes in plants, and plant extraction for diseases control.

On this occasion, the Thai experts conducted a field survey of the KSA for field demonstration to guide the local farmers on planting approaches to cultivate prominent native plants, in addition, the experts from both sides joinly arranged a meeting to summarise a training results, exchange knowledge and discuss ways forward to implement the project.

This activity is an output aiming to enhance the capacity building for KSA staff. They are thus expected to apply the knowledge learnt from Thai experts to teaching the local students in Kenya.
