On 30 June 2022, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of TICA attended 2/2022 APCD Executive Board Meeting chaired by Dr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary-General of the Thai Red Cross Society. The meeting acknowledged the reports on activities during April to September 2022, including Disability Inclusive Business (DIB) and Training, International Cooperation, Network Secretariat and IKM Activities, and it noted that some activities had recovered better, but were not as good as before the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting also noted that many International cooperation activities were conducted during the said period.

Chairperson Dr. Tej expressed appreciation to all supporters for enhancing APCD’s capacity and profile at the international forum. Dr. Tej thanked TICA in particular for its continued support, especially for APCD’s presentation at GSSD EXPO during 12-14 September this year. In response, Mrs. Ureerat, in her capacity as Director-General of TICA, confirmed its support for APCD in enhancing its role in international cooperation. Among other things, she encouraged APCD to submit a proposal for activities to be conducted under the bilateral project between Thailand and Maldives on “Capacity Building on Inclusive Education for Maldivian Professionals”, as well as updated course details on “Sufficiency Economy to Sustainable and Disability-Inclusive Development” to be included in the new AITC three-year work plan (2023-2025). Furthermore, TICA will order 300 chocolate bars from APCD as an expression of support for APCD’s presentation at GSSD EXPO.

Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), as member of APCD Executive Board, supports APCD in conducting activities under the international cooperation framework to strengthen its role as the regional center of excellence on disability through trainings, knowledge exchanges and networking.
