On 7th October 2014, H.R.H Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn opened "Dual Excellence Conference 2014" organized by the Association of Private Technological and Vocational Education Colleges of Thailand in cooperation with Royal Thai Embassy of Berlin, Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Germany, for the second round of conference. On this occasion, Ms. Suchada Thaibunthao, Director-General of TICA, had an audience with the princess at Centara Grand Convention Center, Udonthani.
The conference was held to provide a place in which various sectors involved in the development of vocational education can share knowledge and discuss on Germany's dual education system which focuses on both school-based learning and vocational training in enterprises or industries under the close cooperation between academic institution and private sector in order to develop Thailand to be a center of vocational education of Southeast Asia, and to accommodate labour requirements in the industrial sectors for ASEAN community. Experts, representatives from more than 10 leading institutes of vocational education of Germany, and 550 Thai participants joined this conference.
