On August 26, 2025, His Excellency Mr. Elchin Bashirov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Thailand, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA). The meeting was also attended by Ms. Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, and other relevant TICA and the Embassy staff at the Reception Room, TICA.

On this occasion, both sides discussed opportunities to strengthen relations in development cooperation between Azerbaijan and Thailand. This included bilateral and trilateral cooperation through exchanging of expertise and experience in demining between two countries and with other countries.  Organizing training in economics, trade and investment for partner countries such as member states of ASEAN, the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), was also explored.   

The Ambassador infomed an intention of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA), the focal agency for development cooperation in Azerbaijan, in signing a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen collaboration with TICA.
