On 21 April 2023, Ms. Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), together with the representatives of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Thailand Office, co-hosted the Online Briefing Session on the Annual Needs Survey for Japan’s Development Cooperation Program towards JFY 2024. Representatives from various Thai authourities concerned, officials and staffs of TICA also participated in the meeting.

Ms. KITAKAWA Yuki, Senior Representative, JICA, Thailand Office, briefed the meeting on current Japan’s technical cooperation policies and priorities towards Thailand as well as various Thailand-Japan technical cooperation schemes.  JICA aimed to strengthen partnership for development with Thailand especially at regional level. JICA representative also informed the meeting on this year’s procedures and timeframe for the proposal submission and criteria for the proposal consideration by both Thai and Japanese sides.  

Director Chidchanok reiterated TICA’s readiness to facilitate and coordinate with Thai agencies concerned and the Japanese sides to ensure that this year’s Needs Survey process will be successfully conducted as planned. Director Chidchanok also took this opportunity to inform the meeting of Thailand’s development cooperation policy towards Japan which attaches great importance to expanding technical cooperation with Japan both at bilateral level and as partnership for development within the region.
