The 16th Consultation on Technical Cooperation between Thailand and Cambodia

On 25 April 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand co-chaired the 16th Consultation on Technical Cooperation between Thailand and Cambodia with H.E. Mr. Im Sour, Deputy Secretary-General of the Cambodian Rehabilitation and Development Board of Council for the Development of Cambodia (CRDB/CDC), at Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao, Bangkok, Thailand.

Both sides reviewed the progress of the projects and activities under the First Thailand and Cambodia Three-Year Development Cooperation Programme 2017-2019 which was extended until 2022 in 8 areas; Agricultural, Education, Health, Economic Development, Community and Rural Development, Social Development, Environment and Human Resource Development.

With the satisfactory outcomes, they agreed to continue the development cooperation under the the Second Thailand and Cambodia Three-Year Development Cooperation Programme 2023-2025 in six significant areas namely; Agriculture, Education, Health, Human Resource Development, Social and Economic Development and Environment. The Second Programme aims to enhance development cooperation, in line with National Strategic Development Plan (NSPD) of Cambodia where that the Human Resource Development is considered as a key to a sustainable development in all dimension. Both sides will publicised the outcomes of the projects to the wider public, with an aim to promote greater awareness on the close cooperation between Thailand and Cambodia, which directly benefits the people of both countries.

On 24 April 2023, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of TICA co-chaired the Secretariat meeting with H.E. Mrs. Pana Veunida, Assistant to Minister Attached to Prime Minister, Director of Asia Department, CRDB/CDC. Both sides discussed the 2nd Three-Year Programme and the draft Record of Discussion (RoD). On this occasion, Cambodian delegation visited OTOP projects in Nonthaburi province, and learnt how the local communities developed their own local products.
