On 26 August 2026, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), participated in a handover ceremony for essential supplies to The Border Consortium in Tak Province, under the Small-scale Grant Aid 2026 Project of the Government of the Republic of Korea. The assistance aims to support food security for people living in the Thai-Myanmar border areas.
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Park Yongmin, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Thailand; Mr. Leon de Riedmatten, Executive Director of The Border Consortium; Ms. Jiheh Chun, Country Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Thailand Office; Mr. Preeda Fungtrakulchai, District Chief of Tha Song Yang District; and officials from relevant agencies.
The Small-scale Grant Aid Project of the Government of the Republic of Korea is an initiative that TICA places great importance on supporting in order to ensure that its implementation delivers tangible benefits at the community and grassroots levels, and has a meaningful impact on local people. This year’s activities have a total assistance value of USD 120,000 (approximately THB 3.9 million).
On this occasion, TICA expresses its appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Korea, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand, the KOICA Thailand Office, as well as The Border Consortium, relevant agencies in Tak Province, and all other stakeholders for their cooperation, which has significantly contributed to the successful implementation of the project.
