On 29 September – 1 October 2025, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of TICA, attended the 18th Seoul ODA International Conference and the 2025 Busan Global Partnership Forum in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Hosted as parts of the Global Development Partnership Week 2025, the two conferences aimed to promote dialogue and exchange of views among stakeholders from various sectors to further develop and enhance development cooperation.
During the conferences, Deputy Director-General of TICA participated in a working lunch discussion with emerging doners in Southeast Asia and member countries of the OECD's Development Assistance Committee (DAC). She shared Thailand's experience as an emerging provider promoting South-South and trilateral cooperation, while highlighting the importance of impact evaluation of development cooperation.
Alongside the conferences, Deputy Director-General of TICA held bilateral consultations with Mr. Park Jong-han, Director-General of the Development Cooperation Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, to discuss ongoing cooperation between Thailand and the Republic of Korea. She reaffirmed Thailand's commitment as a development partner with the Republic of Korea. She also proposed consideration of regional development cooperation projects previously submitted through KOICA Thailand, including projects on water management and labor skills development. Furthermore, the Deputy Director-General of TICA also held bilateral consultations with Mr. Robin Ogilvy, Head of the Reforms and Partnerships for Development Impact Division under OECD. Both sides discussed joint cooperation, including ODA data collection, joint activities to identify best practices for ODA, analysis of ODA results, and Thailand's future membership in the OECD DAC.
