On 11–12 May 2026, Mrs. Aruneee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), attended the high-level meeting titled “Future of Development Co-operation Conference: Charting Strategic Directions” at the Headquarters of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris, the French Republic.
The conference was organized by the OECD’s Development Co-operation Directorate (DCD), bringing together high-level representatives from member countries, emerging providers, and civil society. Participants exchanged views on the future trajectory of development co-operation and the implementation of various reform proposals amid shifting geopolitical dynamics and the recent decline in ODA volumes. The insights and outcomes from this conference will inform the OECD’s upcoming flagship report on the strategy and impact of international development co-operation, further strengthening its future work.
On this occasion, the Deputy Director-General served as a panelist in the roundtable discussion on “Identifying Areas of Convergence on Purposes of International Development Co-operation.” She was also invited to participate in a closed-door session titled “Insights from Senior Leadership Interviews: Enduring Changes, Current Pressures, and Building for the Future.” The session aimed to analyze findings from over 30 interviews with Directors-General and senior leaders of development cooperation agencies worldwide.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Deputy Director-General held bilateral discussions with Mr. Rolf Schwarz, Head of the Global Engagement Unit (DCD), and Mr. Guillaume Delalande, Advisor (DCD); as well as Ms. Julia Benn, Head of the International Forum on TOSSD Secretariat. The discussions focused on ways to deepen cooperation between TICA, the DCD, and the TOSSD Secretariat.
