On 20 May 2026, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), chaired the Thailand–Mexico Development Cooperation Meeting together with H.E. Mrs. Ilse Liliána Ferrer, Ambassador of Mexico to Thailand, at TICA. Mr. Carlos Acosta Montoya, Director-General of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), virtually co-chaired the meeting on the Mexican side. The meeting was attended by TICA executives and representatives from relevant agencies of both sides.
 
During the meeting, both sides discussedand endorsed the Thailand–Mexico Development Cooperation Programme 2026–2028, which covers six areas of cooperation: environment, medical tourism, food security, human resource development, gender equality, and risk management. Both sides agreed that environment and food security collaboration are the priority areas in 2026 to advance concrete cooperation projects and to strengthen the close partnership between Thailand and Mexico.
 
Both sides also agreed to jointly sign the Three-Year Work Plan on the Development Cooperation Programme in early July 2026.
