Deputy Director-General of TICA welcomed a delegation from Nepal

On 9 and 11 June 2025, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), welcomed a delegation from Nepal led by Dr. Bikash Devkota, Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health and Population of Nepal, and Dr. Bashir Najeeb, Deputy Representative of UNFPA Nepal, who visited Thailand for a study visit on sexual reproductive and maternal health. The visit was a part of South-South and Triangular Cooperation between TICA and UNFPA.

The study visit aimed to facilitate an exchange of knowledge and best practice on health system, with a particular focus on maternal health in order to reduce after-birth fatality rate in Nepal. During 8-12 June 2025, the delegation had a meeting with Dr. Amporn Benjaponpitak, Director-General of Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health. They also participated in a study visit to Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Rajavithi Hospital, and other healthcare facilities in Samut Prakan Province. In this regards, the Nepalese delegation commended Thailand’s excellence in public health system while TICA and UNFPA reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ongoing cooperation to ensure that all people have access to comprehensive healthcare services and can thrive in an environment that supports well-being across all stages of life.
