On 1 July 2025, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Sukhrob Khoshmukhamedov, Chief of the External Relations and Communications Section of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV), at Reception Room 3, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Chief of the External Relations and Communications Section expressed appreciation to Thailand for its continued annual financial contribution to the UNV programme. He also briefed the Thai side about UNV’s missions ranging from dispatching volunteers under the UNV Full Funding (FF) Programme to issues related to management of the Special Voluntary Fund (SVF) in support of the UNV Strategic Framework 2022-2025.

Deputy Director-General shared information on Friends from Thailand (FFT) Programme, an initiative in which Thai volunteers are dispatched overseas to promote sustainable development and foster mutual understanding through cultural exchange. She also expressed Thailand’s readiness to explore collaboration between FFT and UNV through South-South and triangular cooperation (SSTC). A particular focus went to public health sector along Thai-Myanmar border in order to strengthen volunteerism and maximize its impact for the benefit of the wider international community.
