On 2 July 2026, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), welcomed H.E. Mr. Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir, Minister of Education, Culture and Higher Education of the Federal Republic of Somalia, who paid a courtesy call during his official visit to Thailand. The meeting was also attended by Lt. Sorawud Preededilok, Minister attached to TICA, Ms. Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of the Development Promotion and Coordination Division, and relevant officials.

Minister of Education, Culture and Higher Education of Somalia expressed appreciation for Thailand’s continued support in human resource development and conveyed its intention to further strengthen bilateral relations between Thailand and Somalia. Both sides also emphasized the importance of enhancing development cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including human resource development, education, vocational skills development, fisheries, and fish processing.

On this occasion, Director-General of the TICA reaffirmed its readiness to support activities under the framework of the Thailand–Africa Development Forum (TADF), initiated by TICA, to advance the implementation of Thailand’s Thailand–Africa Initiative (TAI).
