On 16 September 2026, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), welcomed Ms. Victoire Vandeville, the new Country Director of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) in Thailand together with Mr. Nicolas Tateossian, Depurty Country Director, and Mr. Eric Fleutelot, Regional Coordinator Asia Pacific of the Expertise France (EF), at TICA. The Director-General congratulated Ms. Victoire on her new appointment and commended the long-standing cooperation between Thailand and France. He highlighted that this year marks the 170th anniversary of diplomatic relations, noting the visits to France by the Thai Head of State and Head of Government reflecting the close ties between the two countries.

On this occasion, the new AFD Director expressed her pleasure at the opportunity to serve in Thailand. She affirmed her readiness to continuously drive projects under the new five-year development cooperation plan (2026–2030). She also expressed her intention to expand the cooperation in the energy sector and support the establishment of an Expertise France (EF) regional office in Thailand.

Furthermore, both sides discussed opportunities to expand trilateral cooperation in Africa. The Director-General also invited to AFD executives who will visit Bangkok for the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, to attend the "Asia-DAC Dialogue on Development." This event is co-hosted by TICA together with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) on 15-16 October 2026.
