On 16 March 2026, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director - General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) participated in the Swearing-in ceremony of Peace Corps Volunteers Group 137 at Royal River Hotel, Bangkok. Attending the event were H.E. Mr. Sean Kotaro O’Neill, U.S. Ambassador to Thailand, Ms. Amini Kajunju, Country Director of Peace Corps Thailand, Mr. Kukiat Nimneam, Chief Inspector, Department of Local Administration (DLA), Ministry of Interior, Mr. Mongkhonchai Rattana-on, Director of Policy and Planning Bureau, Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), Ministry of Education, and Mr. Sakol Boonsrisuwan, Mayor of Don Chedi Subdistrict Municipality, Don Chedi District, Suphan Buri Province.

After the 66 trainees were sworn in as Peace Corps Volunteers (PCV), they were handed over to the representatives of OBEC and DLA through Mr. Chulvat, Director-General of TICA. Their term of service is two years, 33 PCVs will serve under the Teacher Empowerment for Student Success (TESS) Program and 33 PCVs will serve under the Youth in Development (YinD) Program.

The Peace Corps Volunteer Program in Thailand has served as a bridge of friendship between the two countries for over 64 years. It has also brought Thais and Americans closer together for over 200 years, and has played a significant role in strengthening people-to-people connectivity, as Peace Corps Volunteers work alongside their local counterparts and share knowledge and experiences in various sectors such as education, health, environment, agriculture, community and youth development.
