On 5 April 2022, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Fernando Julio Antonio Quiros Campos, Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to the Kingdom of Thailand, to bid farewell at the end of his tenure, together with Mrs. Carmen Azurin, Minister and Mr. Cesar Recuenco, First secretary at Thailand International Cooperation Agency. Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division also attended.
The Ambassador of Peru expressed his impression during his five-year tenure in Thailand. In addition, the Ambassador of Peru stressed the close bilateral development cooperation between the two countries, particularly in agriculture, alternative development, and sustainable tourism and urged for the two countries to continue exchange knowledge and technology under the development work plan. The Ambassador of Peru also encouraged that the mid-term review be conducted to review the 3-year work plan this year.
Meanwhile, the Director-General of TICA expressed her appreciation to the Ambassador of Peru for his active role in strengthening the 3-year work plan between Thailand and Peru in all areas of cooperation.
Both sides support the exchange of experts between Thailand and Peru and the progress of the medical plants project, and discussed the way forward on expanding development cooperation in new sectors that are mutually beneficial to both countries and aligned with Bio-Circular-Green Economy Model (BCG) policy.
