On 2 June 2022, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), visited Khon Kaen University to discuss with Assoc. Prof. Darunee Jothityangkoon, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, and her team of experts. The meeting was also attended by Mrs. Charintip Yosthasan, Director of International Development Cooperation Division, and relevant TICA staff.

Both sides discussed on the design of Thailand – Kenya Agro-technologies Learning Center and necessary preparation in order to launch the Center on 7 July 2022 at Kenya School of Agriculture (KSA), the Republic of Kenya, as one of the activities to celebrate the 55th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Kenya.

The afore-mentioned Learning Center is one of the outputs of the Project on Thailand – Kenya Sustainable Agro-technologies Development. It is a cooperation between TICA, Royal Thai Embassy in Nairobi, and KSA - with Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University, as implementing agency. Apart from the Learning Center, the Project would also develop the capacity of relevant Kenyan staff, dispatch Friends From Thailand (FFT) vulunteers to the KSA, as well as incorporate fisheries sector into the Project.
