On 14th March 2022, Ms. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) welcomed Mr. Sonny Luu, Country Director of U.S. Peace Corps, Thailand Office, at Thailand International Cooperation Agency. Also present were by Mr. Cheevindh Nathalang, Deputy Director-General of TICA, Ms. Hataichanok Siriwadhanakul, Director of Human Resources Development Cooperation Division of TICA and Ms. Suthanya Sukphaisal, Executive and Communications Assistant of U.S Peace Corps/Thailand.

The Director-General of TICA congratulated Mr. Sonny Luu on the 60th anniversary of the Peace Corps Volunteer Program in Thailand in 2022. To mark this important milestone, both sides agreed in principle to jointly organize activities in the latter half of this year. Other issues discussed included the resumption of Peace Corps Volunteer Program in Thailand in August 2022 and possible cooperation between Peace Corps volunteers and TICA’s Friends from Thailand in third countries; the recruitment of and training systems for Peace Corps’ and TICA’s volunteers.
