On 14 March 2022, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), attended the virtual meeting with representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Thailand Office, and Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) to set the direction for future development cooperation between Thailand and South Korea in Sciences, Technology and Innovation.

The meeting discussed the current development cooperation being implemented under the 3rd Action Plan between KOICA and TICA on Joint Cooperation (2020-2022), which encompassed various areas of cooperation at both bilateral and trilateral level.

In Sciences, Technology and Innovation sector, the meeting discussed the ongoing project between GISTDA and the Naitional Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) in the area of outer space and geographic information, entitled “Project for Building the Pan-Asia Partnership for Geospatial Air Pollution information (PAPGAPi)”. In light of Human Resources Development, the meeting agreed to incorporate the activites under the said project into the bilateral coopertion under the afore-mentioned 3rd Action Plan. The meeting also explored the possibility to build on development cooperation between GISTDA and NIER at bilateral and trilateral level in the 4th Action Plan (2023-2025).
