On 6 December 2022, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) met with Mr. Dechen Tshering, Principal of Wangsel Institute for the Deaf of Bhutan and Ms. Waralee Jaijong, Friends from Thailand volunteer, who is currently working as an Audio Visual Trainer at the Institute.

Mr. Dechen Tshering expressed his gratitude to TICA for dispatching a capable Thai volunteer, the first foreigner volunteer, to the Institute, the only school for the deaf in Bhutan. He emphasised that the audio-visual materials that Ms. Waralee has been developed at the Institute greatly support the promotion of inclusive education in Bhutan, giving students with hearing impairments and wide community a fair chance to learn and develop the skills they need to thrive.
