On 1 December, 2022, Miss Pin Sridurongkatum, Secretary of the Department, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, jointly presided over the opening ceremony of the Short-term Training on “Fess/Rhinology” for Bhutanese doctors at Siriraj Hospital. The opening ceremony was attended by the executives of the university and medical personnel.The medical training course, starting from 28 November to 2 December 2022, is part of the activities under the Development of Ear Nose Throat (ENT) Centre Project in Bhutan, supported by the Thai government.

In addition to the current course, TICA in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, have successfully organized 3 short-term trainings on ENT namely, (1) Hearing Aids TroubleShooting and Fitting Workshop, (2) Workshop for Maintenance Staff (Specialized Services), and (3) Audiometrician Workshop for Technicians which took place in September 2022. These courses, including the ongoing one, are especially designed for technicians and specialists from Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital, in order to develop the ENT medical services in Bhutan.
