On March 23, 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), attended the Executive Board meeting of the Asia-Pacific Center on Disability (APCD) at the APCD Center.
The Executive Board acknowledged, with satisfaction, the APCD’s work on empowering person with disabilities in both Thailand and countries in Asia and Pacific. Examples of the APCD activities include 60+Plus Bakery & Chocolate Café Shop and 60+ Plus Kitchen by CP which serve as both the training center and source of income for person with disabilities. In addition, the APCD also held many capacity-building programmes to empower person with disabilities in various areas. The Center has worked with many agencies such as TICA, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and various UN agencies to implement such programmes.
In this regard, the Chairman and the Director of the APCD expressed their appreciation to Director-General Ureerat and TICA for the support extended to the APCD through TICA’s Project on Capacity Building on Inclusive Education for Maldivian Professionals and Third Country Training Program (TCTP) with JICA on Strengthening Disability-Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction (DIDRR) in the ASEAN Region, as well as for leading a delegation of development partners from JICA, KOICA, AFD, USAID, Peace Corps, Australian Embassy, and German Embassy to visit the APCD on 23 February 2023 (
