On 16 January 2024, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), and Mr. Philippe Orliange, Executive Director of Geographies of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), signed the Amendment to the Agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the AFD on the Establishment of AFD Office in Thailand in Paris, France.

The Amendment to the AFD Office Agreement, initially signed in 2006, aims to accommodate the operations of Expertise France (EF), a subsidiary of AFD and a main French government agency in international development and technical cooperation, in Thailand, as well as to accommodate the additional number of expatriate staffers of AFD office in Thailand to support France’s enhanced development cooperation in Thailand.

TICA and AFD also signed the 3-Year Work Plan (2023-2025) on 20 November 2023. It serves as a guideline for cooperation that would lead to tangible outcomes.
