On 19 January 2026, Lt. Sorawud Preededilok, Minister attached to Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), attended and delivered welcoming remarks at the opening ceremony of the training programme entitled “Strengthening of Welding Trainers in the Subregion” at the Sumut Prakan Skill Development Institute 1, Department of Skill Development. The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Sombhat Phodhiwatana, Chief Inspector, Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Labour, along with distinguished trainers and training participants from member countries of the Indonesia–Malaysia–Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT).

The programme was organised under the Working Group on Human Resources Development (WGHRD) of IMT-GT. It aims to enhance the competencies of welding trainers, strengthen the quality of knowledge transfer, and develop a skilled workforce according to the IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint 2022–2026.

On this occasion, Lt. Sorawud underscored that the initiative reflects the commitment of IMT-GT Leaders and Ministers to cultivating a skilled, industry-ready, and future-oriented workforce, and to enhancing subregional cooperation through effective human resource development.
