On 19 January 2026, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), welcomed Dr. Piyabutr Cholvijarn, President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Kenan Foundation Asia, along with the Foundation’s staff. Also in attendance were Ms. Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, and related officers at TICA Office.

Both sides discussed the challenges and impacts resulting from the United States’ withdrawing of assistance to international organizations. They also explored opportunities for further cooperation between the Kenan Foundation Asia and TICA, including the possibility of organizing a joint activity during the World Bank Group Annual Meeting, during 12–18 October 2026 in Bangkok.

Moreover, both sides agreed to expedite the establishment of a joint Working Group to follow-up the discussion. On this occasion, Dr. Piyabutr extended an invitation to TICA’s executives and relevant officers to attend the Foundation’s 30th Anniversary celebration on 11 February 2026 in Bangkok, where H.E. Mr. Anand Panyarachun, Former Prime Minister of Thailand, will preside over the opening ceremony.
