On 12 February 2026, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Thailand Office, jointly organized a dissemination meeting on TICA–JICA Joint Evaluation for Third Country Training Program (TCTP) in Thailand at Centara Life Government Complex Hotel & Convention Centre Chaeng Watthana, Bangkok. Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of TICA, delivered opening remarks. The event was also attend by representatives from JICA Thailand Office, JICA Headquarter, International Development Center of Japan (IDCJ), and partner agencies implementing TCTP courses namely Metropolitan Waterworks Authority, Department of Highways, Metropolitan Electricity Authority, Department of Industrial Promotion, Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research, Kasetsart University (Kamphaeng Saen Campus), Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD), National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), National Institute for Emergency Medicine, and Board of Investment (BOI).
This meeting is a part of an evaluation of the training courses under Thailand's TCTP program. TICA and JICA jointly support Thai agencies in organizing TCTP approximately 5-10 courses annually, in various fields such as agriculture, infrastructure development, renewable energy, trade and investment, industry, disability empowerment, and emergency medicine. In 2025, 10 suitable courses were selected for evaluation. JICA commissioned IDCJ to conduct the evaluation through online interviews and joint field assessments of the application of knowledge in two courses on rice production technology for food security in Mozambique and on power distribution system in ASEAN in Vietnam.
The event, in addition to reporting the results of the evaluation of all 10 TCTP courses and raising awareness and sharing success cases among participants, also reflects Thailand's commitment to playing a role as an emerging donor. Furthermore, it emphasizes the partnership for development between Thailand and Japan in advancing an attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
