From 25 to 27 February 2025, Lieutenant Sorawud Preededilok, Minister attached to the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), along with officials from the Development Promotion and Coordination Division, participated in the 18th IMT-GT Strategic Planning Meeting (SPM) at Le Meridien Putrajaya, Malaysia. As the coordinating agency for the Working Group on Human Resource Development (WGHRD) under the IMT-GT framework, TICA played a key role in the discussions.

On 26 February 2025, Lieutenant Sorawud, as Head of the Thai Delegation for WGHRD, assumed the chairmanship of WGHRD from Malaysia and presided over the WGHRD Breakout Session. The session saw active participation from representatives of Malaysia’s Ministry of Human Resources, the Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT), and UNINET. Additionally, representatives from Thailand’s Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Labour, and Indonesia’s Ministry of Manpower joined virtually. The meeting reviewed progress on activities under the Implementation Blueprint (IB) 2022–2026, assessed key outcomes, and prepared for discussions in the 18th IMT-GT SPM Plenary Session.

On 27 February 2025, Lieutenant Sorawud, in his capacity as WGHRD Chair, presented the session’s outcomes to the Plenary Session. The IMT-GT Senior Officials acknowledged the report, provided recommendations, and outlined guidance for future initiatives under the WGHRD framework.
