On 7 June 2024, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, former Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Thailand and current Chairman of Thailand-United States Educational Foundation (TUSEF) Board of Directors, and Ms. Gwendolyn Cardno, Chargé d’Affaires of U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, co-chaired the Congratulatory Ceremony and Reception for 2024 Thai Awardees and presented congratulatory letters to 29 of the 2024 Fulbright Thai awardees at Vithes Samosorn, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), on behalf of Director General of TICA, also attended the ceremony.
On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Former Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Thailand and Chairman of the Board of TUSEF, presented the annual contribution in the amount of 15 million Baht from the Royal Thai Government to TUSEF.
The 29 Thai Fulbright awardees included (1) 9 Fulbright Thai Graduate Scholars (TGS) (2) 6 Foreign Language Teaching Assistants (FLTA) (3) 1 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship (HHH) awardee (4) 1 Scholar in Residence (SRI) (5) 3 Thai Visiting Scholars (TVS) (6) 5 Junior Research Scholars (JRS), and (6) 4 Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) awardees
The awardees will study, do research and teach in universities across the United States. The Fulbright Program is a flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the United States and the Royal Thai Government
