On 4 September 2025, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), together with Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of TICA, attended the KOICA Blue Sky 2025: Environment Youth Conference Programme, organized by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Thailand Office in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Thailand and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA).
The opening ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mr. Park Yongmin, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Thailand, Mr. Ponniwat Panpet, Deputy Director of the BMA Education Department, and Dr. Youngsuk Jun, Country Director of KOICA Thailand Office. The event was held at Le Concorde Ballroom, Swissotel Bangkok Ratchada.
The event featured an award ceremony for the painting contest under the theme “Protecting Our Air and Water,” with participation from students representing 12 schools and 13 universities. The winning artworks were exhibited during the event.
On this occasion, the Director-General of TICA extended his congratulations to the award-winning youth, commending their artworks for their powerful messages in raising awareness of environmental issues. He emphasized that “individual actions can be the starting point of change for the environment.” He expressed appreciation to KOICA for leading this creative initiative in collaboration with Thailand, an example of concrete and impactful international cooperation.
In addition, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of TICA, delivered a keynote speech on the topic “The Importance of Air: The Value of the Invisible,” highlighting the importance of clean air and the roles of all sectors, especially youth and international cooperation, in improving air quality and shaping a sustainable future.
The KOICA Blue Sky project, launched in 2023, aims to raise public and youth awareness on air and water pollution through creative activities, exhibitions, and learning platforms. Therefore, TICA is pleased to partner with KOICA and other partners in advancing this meaningful initiative.
