On 29 March 2023, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), in collaboration with The Royal Project Foundation, organised the International Workshop on Royal Project Highland Quinoa Production and Knowledge Exchange at Chanaka Dhibesra Damri the Royal Project Agriculture Research and Development Center, Chiang Mai Province. General Kampanat Ruddit, Privy Councillor and Chairman of the Royal Project Foundation Executive Board presided over the opening ceremony. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of TICA, H.E. Mr. Alex Geiger Soffia, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to the Kingdom of Thailand, and Associate Professor Nikhom Leamsak, Department of Forest Products, Faculty of Forestry, Kasetsart University, also gave congratulatory remarks.

 

This workshop was arranged in a hybrid format, aimed at providing a forum for specialists, researchers, and representatives from the government, and private sectors to exchange knowledge and experience from quinoa cultivation to quinoa processing to the development of quinoa-based products, and marketing strategies. Also In attendance were the experts from Chile, Bhutan, and the ASEAN Member States with over 214 attendances. The workshop is an activity under the development cooperation programme between Thailand and Chile (2019 - 2021).
