Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) supported the Department of Protocol in organising the study visit for the Head of Diplomatic Missions and Consular Representatives, and their spouses “Weaving towards Sustainability” to Sakon Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom Provinces, which aims to enhance understanding of Thailand’s potential in sustainable and green development based on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy and Thai identity.
On 26 - 28 June 2025, H.E. Dr. Lalivan Karnchanachari, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, led the diplomatic corps and their spouses, a total of 45 people from 32 countries, to visit the Phu Phan Royal Development Study Centre, the Indigo Dyed Fabric Learning Center, Ban Don Koi Vijalaya in Sakon Nakhon Province, and Phra That Phanom in Nakhon Phanom Province. Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of TICA, together with his spouse, Mrs. Pimwadee Sovaratanapong, Deputy Director-General of TICA, and relevant TICA officials also participated as representatives from TICA.
On this occasion, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of TICA, delivered remarks to welcome members of the diplomatic corps and their spouses and expressed TICA’s readiness to continue development cooperation with every country. Furthermore, TICA organised an exhibition to showcase the application of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) in development projects implemented in many developing countries. These include One Gewog One Product (OGOP) project in the Kingdom of Bhutan, SME Development: One District One Product (ODOP) project in the Lao PDR, as well as South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) initiatives with UN agencies, such as the Global Health Diplomacy project, in collaboration, with World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Public Health. During the study visit, the ambassadors and consuls expressed keen interest in exploring opportunities for collaboration with TICA in various fields.
