From 26 to 30 January 2026, the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Thailand Office, jointly organized the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) entitled “Energy Resilience Assessment: Towards Climate-Adaptable Energy Systems” (JFY 2025), in collaboration with the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC).
The programme aimed to strengthen participants’ knowledge and practical application of energy resilience concepts and assessment methodologies, while enhancing the adaptive capacity of energy infrastructure in response to climate change. It also sought to disseminate relevant knowledge and approaches for improving the resilience and climate adaptability of energy systems among representatives from ASEAN Member States. The programme is expected to contribute to the advancement of regional cooperation in this field, thereby benefiting ASEAN Member States and Japan.
The training programme brought together 18 participants from seven countries: Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, and Thailand. Through case studies and hands-on exercises, participants exchanged experiences and shared best practices—key factors in strengthening energy security and supporting regional efforts toward achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050 and Net Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 2065. In addition, the programme facilitated the establishment of a network among participating countries in the region.
