On 2 February 2026, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), jointly delivered welcome remarks at the opening ceremony of the 28th Training Program in Technology of Medicine and Public Health for Health Personnel from the Lao PDR. The ceremony was held at the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University, Bangkok.
The Training Program in Technology of Medicine and Public Health for Health Personnel from the Lao PDR is a Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn since 2000. The program aims to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in health promotion, disease prevention, medical treatment, and health administration, while also promoting the exchange of knowledge and experiences between health personnel of Thailand and the Lao PDR. These efforts contribute to the long-term improvement of the quality of life of the people in both countries. To date, a total of 1,170 health personnel from the Lao PDR have participated in the program.
For the 28th Training, conducted during 31 January–12 March 2026, the program comprises of academic lectures, hands-on practical training, and study visits. A total of 60 trainees are participating, including 33 academic and 27 administrative participants.
TICA is one of the agencies supporting this royal initiative and has continuously served as the coordinating body, while also providing budgetary support for the implementation of the training program. These efforts aim to strengthen cooperative networks and further expand development cooperation in other related fields in the future.
