Three successful decades of Teaching and Studying Thai Language in Viet Nam: Opportunities and Challenges Ahead

On 13 March 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) presided over the opening ceremonies of the seminar on "Three successful decades of Teaching and Studying Thai Language in Viet Nam: Opportunities and Challenges Ahead" and the Exhibition on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP), and at the main campus of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Viet Nam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. Also present at the events were Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan, Rector of USSH, Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Wiraka Mudhitaporn, Consul-General of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City, and Assoc. Prof. Prit Supasetsiri, Vice President for International Relations and Communications, Srinakharinwirot University.

The seminar aimed to highlight the important role that Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) has played in promoting the teaching of Thai language in Vietnamese universities and its achievement over the past 30 years. It also provided a forum for representatives from educational institutions, academics, alumni and Thai businesses in Viet Nam to exchange views and offer recommendations which will lead to a new chapter in promoting sustainable cooperation in the educational sector between Thailand and Viet Nam.
