On 10 March 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), welcomed Ms. Siriluck Chiengwong, Head of Office United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Thailand, who came to pay a courtesy call upon her recent assumption of Head of Office UNFPA Thailand. The two sides also discussed development cooperation between each other.

UNFPA commended TICA’s leading role in promoting and supporting development cooperation through South-South and triangular cooperation. Both sides discussed opportunities for future collaborations under Thailand-UNFPA Country Programme Document (CPD) 2022-2026 with an emphasis on UNFPA’s key areas including midwifery, reproductive health, and adolescent pregnancy prevention. Possible activities could be, for examples, the trilateral cooperation between Thailand-Timor-Leste-UNFPA on midwifery, and a workshop on teenage pregnancy prevention.
