On 11 September 2026, Mr. Grisada Phakakarn, Director of Human Resources Development Cooperation Division of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), and Ms. Sato Hiromi, Volunteer Coordinator of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Thailand Office, jointly presided over the Handover Ceremony for the 7 Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCVs) held at TICA, Government Complex.

The 7 JOCVs term of assignment are for 1-2 years in 2 fields;
(1) Japanese Language Education, at Wat Phutthabucha School in Bangkok, Pluak Daeng Phittayakom School in Rayong province, Phayao Pittayakom School in Phayao province and, Banglamung School in Chonburi Province.
(2) Welfare for Persons with Disabilities, at Nakhon Pathom School for the Deaf in Nakhon Pathom province, the Central Special Education Center in Bangkok, and Regional Special Education Center 11 in Nakhon Ratchasima province.

Their assignment are expected to enhance the knowledge and skills of local Thai officers and youths such as strengthening capability in Japanese language, promoting cultural exchange and, special education for person with disabilities, while further deepening people-to-people connectivity between Thailand and Japan.
