On 21 April 2026, Mrs. Arunee Hiamm, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency delivered Thailand’s Country Statement on Agenda Item 4: Special Body on Least Development Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States at the 82nd Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. The Deputy Director-General stated that “Trade diversification and cross-border connectivity are key drivers of building resilience for Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States. Thailand is committed to building the capacity of LDCs, LLDCs, and SIDS through South-South and triangular cooperation in areas including sustainable economic development, agricultural innovation, social inclusion, and community-based economic empowerment in a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable manner.”
